Tillie M. (McCoy) Young
1969—2024

Tillie M. (McCoy) Young, 55, of Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, at Marion General Hospital.

Tillie was born Jan. 23, 1969, in Pike County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Homer B. and Mary (Fraley) McCoy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, great-grandparents, and siblings Louise Howard, Debra Pearl, Edward McCoy, William “Bill” McCoy and James “Jimmy” Barger.

Tillie was united in marriage to James Young, who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Mary (Allison) Young; step-children Matthew (Jessica) Young of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Garnett (Steven) Gale of Lexington, Kentucky; step-grandchildren Jocelyn and Bryson Young; siblings Kenneth McCoy of Raven, Kentucky, Freda Johnson of Richwood, Ohio, and Ricky Gauze of Huntington, West Virginia. She was the aunt of Rosemary (Gregg) Tucker of Caledonia, Ohio, Andrea (Jeremy) Thomas of Columbus, Ohio, Lyndsie Hatfield and Sierra Walters, both of Marion, Ohio, Brooklyne (Erik) Dague of Kenton, Ohio, and Bruce (Casey) Gibson. In addition to several friends, Tillie is survived by her best friend, Ashely Jarvis, whom she thought the world of, along with great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at Martin County Freewill Baptist Church, Pilgrim. Cremation followed.
