Eliza Messer
1928—2024
Eliza Messer, 96, of Kermit, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born March 30, 1928, to the Late Carter and Myrtle Messer.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clellen Messer, one grandson, Andy Messer and siblings, Fannie Baisden and Gracie Baisden, both of Dingess, Vada Hodge of Cleveland, Ohio, and Arland Messer and Russell Messer, both of Kermit.
Survivors include Eliza’s children: Stanley (Lena) Messer of Louisa, Kentucky, Roger (Karis) Messer, Barbara (Eugene) Marcum, Jerry (Darlene) Messer, Dallas (Brenda) Messer, Marsha (Tommy) Maynard, all of Kermit, and Regina (Kenneth) Williamson of Crum. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and three siblings, Ray Messer, Dan Messer and Dorothy Baisden.
Eliza was a stay-at-home wife and mother. She was an avid prayer warrior. Her main priority was serving God and loving her family.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Warfield, Kentucky. Burial followed at the Clellen Messer Cemetery on Jennies Creek Road. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
