INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Jodie Jude, 30, of Inez, was arrested Monday on Gordon Maynard Road on a bench warrant. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest.

Jamie Jude, 52, of Inez, was arrested Monday on Rockcastle Creek Road in Inez for operating on a suspended or revoked license, failure of a non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, and on a bench warrant. Sheriff Kirk observed Jude operating a vehicle, knowing he did not have a valid driver’s license.

William Donald Delong, 22, of Warfield, was arrested Saturday at Dempsey Housing Complex for possession of marijuana. Special Deputy J.C. Kirk responded to a report of a car involved in a hit-and-run on North Wolf Creek Road. The deputy later received information that the vehicle had been spotted at Dempsey Apartments. When he arrived at the apartment to speak with Delong, he detected the odor of marijuana. According to the police report, Delong admitted to possessing marijuana.

Floyd Howell Jr., 51, of Inez, was arrested Oct. 30 at Adkins Fastop in Inez for public intoxication of a controlled substance (excluding alcohol) and theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting under $500). Sheriff Kirk responded to a report that Howell had shoplifted and appeared highly impaired. He located Howell walking on Main Street, noting that Howell could not perform a sobriety test and had slurred speech. According to the police report, Howell stole a bottle of root beer valued at $1.49, two snack cakes valued at $2.09 each, and one crème-filled Long John valued at $2.29.

Eric Sartin, 28, of Kermit, West Virginia, was arrested Oct. 30 for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia. Deputy Justin Bellamy reported that Special Deputy J.C. Kirk and Constable Brad Preece went to a residence on Gordon Hollow in Beauty to serve a warrant on an individual believed to be at the location. According to the police report, the officers observed Sartin turn and throw something upon their arrival. The deputies recovered a syringe containing an unknown brown liquid and a small plastic baggie with a clear, crystal-like substance believed to be meth. The suspected meth was approximately 10 feet away from where Sartin was standing.

Joy Armes, 52, of Charleston, West Virginia, was arrested Oct. 29 in Inez on an indictment warrant and a bench warrant. Deputy Dennis Hall served the warrants.
