Lacy Walters
1941—2024

Elder Lacy Walters 83 of Sidney passed away peacefully Sunday Oct.27th, 2024 at Pikeville.

He was born June 8, 1941, to the late Troy and Viola Hinkle Walters.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Johnny (Donna) Walters and infant sister Norma.

Lacy was a coal miner who loved the outdoors, always fishing, hunting or digging ginseng. Those who knew him knew he was affectionally known as Duck Bill.

He was a faithful member of the Mount Pleasant Old Regular Baptist Church where he was baptized Jan. 19, 1980, and ordained as a preacher (Elder) Aug. 8, 1987. He loved going to church when his health permitted.

Lacy is survived by his children DD (Carl) Wehner, Pam (Steve) Mullins, Tammy Walters, Kathy (Ray) Daugherty, Missy (Robert) Lockard; two sisters Hazel (Benny) Sammons and Naomi (Freddie) Smith; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Mount Pleasant Regular Baptist Church on Thursday Oct. 31, 2024, at noon. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Sidney with family and friends serving as pall bearers.

Special services will be conducted Wednesday Oct. 30, 2024, at 7 p.m. Viewing will start at 1 p.m. for family and 2 p.m. for the public on Wednesday. The Old Regular Baptist Church Ministers will be officiate.
