INEZ — A tip sparked a police operation that led to the arrest of 38-year-old Shaunda Crum of Inez on multiple drug charges.
Acting on information about suspected narcotics activity at a residence on Spring Branch Road, Martin County Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Kidd arrived just before noon Friday to investigate.
Once inside, the officer unearthed a cache of illegal drugs in the back bedroom where Crum was staying.
Kidd discovered a bottle filled with white powder perched on a vanity next to Crum’s wallet. He also found digital scales dusted with a crystal-like substance and nearly 90 grams of marijuana inside multiple plastic baggies. Finally he confiscated a buprenorphine strip from inside Crum’s wallet.
Crum faces a series of charges: first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, third-degree possession of a controlled substance-drug unspecified, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
