Alma Jean Bowen
1938—2024

Alma Jean Bowen, 86, of Inez, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Born April 13, 1938, in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Noldia Bowen.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five siblings: Elmer Hickman, Ossie Meador, Ova Bowen, Tamery Bowen and Joann Marcum.

Survivors include Alma’s four siblings, Wanda Mills of Tomahawk, Delmer Bowen of Villa Rica, Georgia, and Melvin Bowen of Morristown, Tennessee, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at the Vineyard United Baptist Church in Inez, with Doc Maynard, David Bowen and Benny Joe Fitch officiating. Burial will follow at the Bowen Cemetery. Friends may visit the church after 6 p.m. Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
