James Donald May
1955—2024

James Donald May, age 69, of Debord, passed away Oct. 15, 2024, at his residence.

He was born July 23, 1955, in Clyde, Ohio, to the late Sam Williams and Shirley Combs.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by two brothers, Sammy and Ronald May, and one stepdaughter, Angela (Scott) Elam.

He is survived by his wife, Debra (Jarrett) May of Debord; two sons, John Robert Conn of Ohio and Charles Bob May of Richmond; six daughters, Christina Michelle (Billy) McCoy May of Mount Sterling, Kristy Jo May of Texas, Jamie Lynn (James) Campbell of Hazard, Rachel (Christopher) May of West Virginia, Alisha (Rob) Delong of Galloway, Ohio, and Erika Delong of Winchester; his stepmother, Jean Williams of Salyersville; three brothers, Ricky Williams and Randy (Katherine) Williams, both of Salyersville, and Henry (Lynette) Williams of Georgetown; and seven sisters, Linda Kincer of Richmond, Naomi (Wayne) Helton, Mary Howard, Marie Dotson, Tammy (Doug) Howard, Virchie (Tracie) Howard and Nancy Gibson, all of Salyersville.

James is also survived by 11 grandchildren: James Dalton Cole and Mason Elam, both of Lexington, Jesse Austin (Katie) Cole of Mount Sterling, Kelsey Dawn Kidd of Texas, Addison Ballard of Inez, Adrian Ballard and Ethan Elam, both of Winchester, Nova Russell and Aubrianna Suttles, both of Ironton, Ohio, Braxton Evan Howard and Connor Nelson Delong, both of Galloway, Ohio. He leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Sadie Dawn Elam of Debord, Waylon Blake Howard of Galloway, Ohio, and Luna Grace Kidd, Brielle Audi Kidd and Kaleia Capri Kidd, all of Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home, Inez, with Lonnie Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Garden in Inez. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
