The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of one-lane traffic and delays in two locations in Johnson County due to cross-drain replacement work.
On KY 3388 near Island Creek, crews will replace a cross drain Oct. 7 at mile point 1.2 (south of KY 40). Work will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during which time the road will be reduced to one-lane traffic controlled by on-site flaggers. Motorists should expect long delays and are urged to pay attention to signage and crews on-site.
Additionally on KY 40 East near Buffalo Road, crews will replace two cross drains Oct. 8 and 9, between mile points 16.0 and 16.6, located 3.1 miles west of KY 1107. The road will also be reduced to one lane from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day with traffic controlled by flaggers. Drivers should anticipate long delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during peak travel times.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will perform both projects. Schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
