After the Whistle: Down goes Ole Miss

With a little luck, Mark Stoops has redeemed himself. The Cats pulled out the 20-17 win Saturday against sixth-ranked Ole Miss.

I have to admit I am surprised.

I knew we had a good showing against Georgia, but a part of me thought it could have been a fluke.

The Bulldogs were just having a lousy day.

But the Kentucky defense is proving themselves and our offense is starting to back them up.

After we all complained about Stoops not going for it on fourth down against Georgia, he must have heard the rumble from fans.

The 63-yard bomb saved the day and it was a gutsy call.

One that I wished we would have made against the Dawgs.

Luck finally found its way to us when the fumble floated through the air and into the arms of Josh Kattus. His cat-like reflexes sent him diving into the end zone.

Our good fortunes did not stop there.

The Rebels, along with every fan watching, saw the kick hang wide.

None of us saw that one coming.

Hopefully, the Cats will not fall to their old ways when Vanderbilt rolls into town.

We have a tendency to overlook teams and this could be a trap game coming off a big win.

Let’s keep it rolling, Stoops.
