Christene (Maynard) Spaulding
1946—2024

Christene (Maynard) Spaulding, 77, of Kermit, West Virginia, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at her home.

She was born Dec. 2, 1946, to the late Chester and Ethel (Porter) Maynard.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Lindsey Spaulding; daughter Debbie (Roger) Damron of Beauty, Kentucky; sons Lindsey Junior (Marlene) Spaulding and Mark (Mary) Spaulding of Kermit; six grandchildren, Christina (Andy) Damron, Roger (Kelli) Damron, Marky (Jade) Spaulding, Courtney (Robert) McArthur, Brady (Abbie) Spaulding and Joshua Spaulding; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way. She also leaves behind brothers Chester (Judy) Maynard, Dennis (Gail) Maynard and Prentice Maynard, sisters Vicie (Ray) Carter and Annie Maynard, and two special people who she loved as her own, Myrtle Dials and Jennifer Scott.

“I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at Mullins Family Funeral Home in Warfield, with Freddie Jr Messer and Bobby Perry officiating. Burial followed at the Spaulding Cemetery on Jennies Creek in Kermit.
