After a humiliating loss to South Carolina, Kentucky football gave fans something to hope for again.
We will never know what would have happened if Stoops went for it against Georgia on fourth down with only a few minutes remaining.
But against the No. 2 team in the nation, I say you go for it.
If Kentucky had not converted to a first down, though, what would fans have said?
Either way, our defense looked good.
But not choosing to run the ball in the final quarter to play keep-away and set up a final play was a questionable decision.
Luckily, the Cats bounced back with a convincing win over Ohio.
But another test remains when UK takes on sixth-ranked Ole Miss this Saturday.
When is Stoops going to win the big games?
Besides finally beating Florida, we have not proved to be consistent.
If you show up for a Caturday, it is hard to tell which Kentucky team you will watch that day.
I think we’ll be lucky to win six more games to finish out the regular season.
I will keep my hopes high and dream that we keep the momentum going. With Tennessee, Texas, Louisville, Auburn and Florida remaining, we have a tough road ahead.
Bring on the Pope
For basketball fans, Big Blue Madness and Mark Pope’s debut has been announced.
Mark Oct. 11 on your calendars.
My Pops and I were there for Cal’s opener when John Wall did his infamous dance.
With the big screen TV, it is not as appealing to fight for a parking spot five blocks away.
But if it all aligns, I may be there for the beginning of the new era.
Whether in Martin County or Lexington, I am looking forward to it.
Bring on the Pope.
