Juanita Justice
(1926—2024)

Juanita Justice, 97, passed peacefully at her home in Inez on Sept. 9, 2024.

She was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Hardy to the late Lawrence Justice and Edith Fitzpatrick Justice.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Eli “Bo” Justice and John Douglas Justice.

She leaves behind many beloved cousins, friends, and special caretakers who were with her through her illness.

A graduate of Inez High School, Class of 1944, Juanita moved to Columbus, Ohio, to pursue a career. After working in Columbus for several years, she returned to Inez to accept a position with Inez Deposit Bank to be closer to her family. Juanita rose to vice president of the bank before retiring after 25 years of service.

Juanita attended the New Friendship United Baptist Church, was a Daughter of the American Revolution, and had many interests, including nature, cooking, reading, sewing, and traveling with the Senior Circle of Louisa, as well as family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sept. 11, 2024, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, with John Goble officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Appalachian Hospice Care, Pikeville or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
