Floyd Elmer Kirk
(1940—2024)

Floyd Elmer Kirk, 84, of Inez, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side Sept. 14, 2024.

He was born June 15, 1940, to the late Floyd and Clementine (Hensley) Kirk of Inez.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rowena Elliott Kirk; one brother, Morgan Arthur Kirk; one sister, Mary Lilian Fannin; and a stepson, Tennis Ray Sansom.

Survivors include six children: Richard Dale Sansom, Selma Jean Sansom, Elmer Jr. (Lisa) Kirk, Everett (Wanda) Kirk, Paul Kirk and John Herman (Regina) Kirk. He also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and six siblings, Harriet (Paul) Meade, Idamae (Kenneth) Ward, Lorna (James) Cassady, John Roy (Tammy) Kirk, Norma (Brent) McCormick and Joe Thomas Kirk,

“Dad was a proud disciple of Jesus. If you ever met him for longer than 10 minutes he would witness to you. He was truly burdened for the lost. His dying wish was that all would come to know Christ.” John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, at 11 a.m. at New Friendship United Baptist Church, with John Goble, David Marcum, Buddy and David Stacy, and Benny Joe Fitch. Burial followed at the Kirk Memorial Cemetery on Big Lick in Inez. Mullins Family Funeral Home of Warfield is honored to serve the family.
