WARFIELD — Lexi Cline came locked and loaded in a Sept. 9 Martin County Middle School home win over Mullins. The Lady Cardinal was lethal from 3-point range when she dropped six 3s to lead MCMS past the Tigers for a 42-24 final score.
Head Coach Boo Newsome’s squad continues their winning streak and improves to 5-1 on the season.
Cline nailed two from behind the arc early in the first quarter. She tickled the twine for three more before the half.
Floor general Annaleigh Davis hit for six in the second. Kennedy Mills scored a putback and free throw to send Martin County to the locker room with a demanding 28-8 lead.
Cline had one more 3-bomb in her arsenal before substitutions in the second half. She finished the game with 20 points to lead all scorers.
Davis dropped another six in the third quarter and hit double digits on the night with 12 points.
Bri Muncy bucketed four points for the Cards. Mills finished the game with three. Kinslee Callaham nailed a 3-pointer to round out the scoring for Martin County.
Kamryn Akers led the Tigers with 10 points. Sydney Hamilton dropped in nine points. Jessa Johnson and Addison Blackburn scored three points each for Mullins.
The Lady Cards were scheduled to travel to Dorton on Monday night and host Adams on Tuesday.
