INEZ — The Eden Wildcats stay perfect after defeating in-county rival Inez. The following is a recap of week 3 elementary action:
Eden vs Louisa – On Sept. 3 the Eden A-team defeated Louisa 23-14.
Paige Stafford fired in 13 points to lead all scorers. Braylee Horn followed up with five points. Sarah McCoy hit for two.
The Eden B-team won 16-9. Howell scorched the nets with 10 points. Charlie Mollett nailed six points for the Wildcats.
The C-team lost a close one 5-4.
Remy Williams and Lexi Hammond each scored two points for the Cats.
Inez vs Eden – On Sept. 4 the Eden A-team defeated Inez 43-26 behind a double-double from Martha Maynard.
Maynard’s 11 points and 10 rebounds were a difference maker in the game.
Braylee Horn led all scorers with 14 points.
Paige Stafford hit double digits with 10 points for the Cats.
Sarah McCoy scored four points. Harper Howell came off the bench for two. Paislee Hinkle dropped in a free throw.
Jaylea Maynard led Inez with nine points. Kenleigh Estep nailed six points. Harper Runyon hit for five.
Layla Cline finished with four points and Emily Mooney hit a bucket for two.
The Eden B-team won 24-7. Howell, Taytum Jennings and Charlie Mollett shared scoring honors with six points each.
Aubrey Wilson finished with four points. Kami Fletcher pitched in with two.
Cline led the Indians with five points. Paisley Mooney flipped in two.
The Eden C-team won 10-7.
Remy Williams bucketed four points. Kaydee Dials, Lexi Hammond and Lilly McCoy had two points each for the Wildcats.
Emily Mollette, Ariel Marcum and Aubrey Maynard each scored two points for the Indians. Hope Dials pitched in with one.
Warfield vs Louisa East – On Sept. 5 the Warfield A-team lost a close one versus Louisa with an 18-14 final score.
Payzlee Fletcher led the Red Devils with 11 points.
McKenna Fletcher sunk a bucket for two. Morgan Dove pitched in with a free throw.
The B-team fell 10-1 against Louisa.
Brooklyn Nichol had the lone point for Warfield.
