INEZ — City officials in Inez are calling on community members aged 16 and older to lend a hand in the “CityWalk Creek Cleanup” this Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
The initiative, which invites volunteers to help clear litter and debris along the creek bank near the Storybook Walk and throughout the city, is part of a collaboration between the city and the Livelihoods Knowledge Exchange Network. Madison Mooney, LiKEN community engagement coordinator, locally spearheads the event.
Participants must register online at https://rb.gy/t8suq3 and must sign a waiver form before joining the cleanup.
Check-in begins at 9 a.m. at the Court Street gazebo, where volunteers are encouraged to arrive early to complete necessary paperwork.
Organizers will provide breakfast, water and essential cleanup supplies, including trash bags, protective gloves and trash grabbers.
Volunteers will receive information on the significance of environmental stewardship.
The volunteer who discovers the “most unique piece of trash” during the event will receive a prize.
