OnPoint Swish calms down the Kaos

HAZARD — The OnPoint Swish played their last regular season home game Aug. 24 at Memorial Gymnasium. In arguably the best game of the season, the Swish held off the Greensboro Kaos in a 70-62 win.

The victory has earned the Swish a home playoff game for the first round of the Women’s American Basketball Association tournament.

WABA All-Star Makayla Epps brought the it factor for the Swish. Epps racked up 23 points in the win.

Martin County native Carla Booth fired in 17 points. 

JaVonna Layfield poured in 12 points. 

Dena Jarrells tallied seven points. Former Magoffin standout Kennedi Stacy fired in four. E’moni Washington added three. Dasia Thornton and Victoria Dunlap each finished with two points.

The OnPoint Swish will host their first-round playoff game in Hazard next month. The date will be announced.
