Martin County Arrest Report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:

Brett Waller

Brett Waller, 59, of Lovely, was arrested Monday on Route 40 in Warfield for strangulation second degree (domestic violence).

Chief Deputy Chris Kidd responded to a domestic in progress at 12:18 p.m. At the scene, the alleged victim told police that Waller had “choked” her and cut off her “air.” The police report noted red marks around her neck and on her knee.

Waller left the scene and walked across the Kermit Bridge. The Kermit Police Department communicated with Waller and then advised Kidd that Waller wanted to return and “talk.”

Upon returning, Waller admitted the disagreement and said that was the reason he left.

Jonathan Mollett

Jonathan Mollett, 36, of Louisa, was arrested Thursday on Route 3 in Inez on multiple indictment warrants. Deputy Kidd made the arrest.

Henry Kyle Butcher

Henry Kyle Butcher, 26, of Tomahawk, was arrested Aug. 14 on North Wolf Creek Road in Lovely for theft by unlawful taking under $500 and a bench warrant for court.

Constable Bradford Preece stopped Butcher after seeing him riding a bike on Route 1714 and carrying a roll of chicken wire. When questioned, Butcher allegedly stated Floyd Stacy gave the wire to him.

The constable accompanied Butcher to Stacy’s residence, where Stacy denied giving Butcher the wire. During the investigation, the officer learned that Butcher was wanted on the bench warrant.
