A day of music and philanthropy

FORT GAY, W.Va. — “The annual AlleyWay Benefit Gospel Sing & Car Show returns Saturday in a new location. The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. at 735 Court Street in Fort Gay, West Virginia, a change from its usual venue at Warfield Park.
Free and open to the public, Alleyway Benefit Gospel Sing & Car Show offers a day filled with entertainment and philanthropy.
Since its inception in 2012, the benefit has been a staple at Warfield Park, driven by the passion and dedication of organizer Ricky Alley, who felt called to create the event.
He looks forward to bringing the benefit to Fort Gay with new people stepping up to help.
Alley has been tirelessly working to gather donations for the benefit auction.
“The Bible tells us we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. With God on our side and your assistance, we will be able to reach and help many,” Alley said, pointing to the event’s dual mission of supporting those in need and spreading the gospel.
Through the years, Alley’s efforts have provided crucial financial assistance to numerous families in the area.
This year’s program promises to deliver great gospel music, a benefit auction, a car show and community fellowship.
A stellar lineup of performers including David & Sheila Bowen, Joe Moore, Sandi & Kagan, Ed Caldwell, Upstring Band, Karis Young, Gathered, Karen Perry, His Anointed One, The Blankenships, Jack Ward & the Postmen, Trish Hart, The Percell and others will grace the stage.
Pastor Randy Smith will be on hand, and Evangelist Carson Gray of Pineville will deliver the message.
The car show will take place concurrently with the main event, with a registration fee of $10.
Concessions will be available, offering a variety of food options.
Attendees can participate in the benefit auction and try their luck with door prize drawings.
Those wishing to contribute further can give a love offering at the gate.
True to tradition, all proceeds from the event will go toward supporting local families in need, a mission that has made the AlleyWay Benefit Gospel Sing & Car Show a beloved community event.
The event will proceed rain or shine. Alley encourages attendees to bring lawn chairs due to limited seating.
