LENORE, W.Va. — Morehead State signee Laken Williams, West Virginia Tech player Matt Linville, and University of Pikeville newcomer Jaliyah Warren will assist with the E&A Hoops Camp on Aug. 10 at the old Lenore gym.

E&A Hoop Dreams is a basketball training program owned and operated by Andrew and Elizabeth Evans in Lenore.

The E&A organization specializes in group and individual basketball training as well as events such as camps, clinics and shootouts.

This will be their first youth basketball camp.

The camp will emphasize the fundamentals of the game while also allowing the kids to compete in drills for a variety of prizes.

Former Martin County standout Matt Linville just completed his first season of college basketball at West Virginia Tech.

“It was an amazing experience and I was very blessed,” Linville said of his freshman campaign.

He averaged 6.4 ppg, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks his senior year in Inez. He was top 500 in the nation in blocks per game and top 10 in the state.

The former Cardinal won a 15th Region Championship and All-A title at Martin County High School.

“Playing at Rupp was the highlight of my high school career and something that I will never forget,” Linville spoke of his career.

He is currently majoring in business and history and plans to either start his own business or become a history teacher and basketball coach.

Williams will be in her first year at Morehead this fall. She recently won the Donna L.J. Murphy Award and is the first player from Martin County ever to receive the honor.

During her career for the Lady Cardinals, Williams surpassed 2,100 points and 500 assists. She led her team to an 80-32 record and consecutive district championships in 2022 and 2023.

Warren played two seasons at Martin County High School before transferring to Belfry.

She led the Pirates in scoring last season, averaging 18.7 points a game. Warren made 96 three-pointers on the season and surpassed 1,000 points for her career.

The old Lenore gym is located at 19 Laurel Creek Road.
