Robert E. ‘Bobby’ Dillon
1958—2024

Robert E. “Bobby” Dillon, 66, of Hode, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Highlands ARH Hospital in Prestonsburg.

He was born April 10, 1958 in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of the late Elmer Dillon and Antha Harmon.

Bobby is preceded in death by his spouse, Betty Dillon and sister-in-law, Shirley Janlin.

He was a former employee of Martin County Coal Corporation and was a Christian.

Survivors include his children, Robbie (Misty) Dillon of Inez, Christal (Tony) Shumway of Georgetown, and Anna (Michael) Stroud of Breeden, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Aliyah) Stroud, Erica (Damian) Evans, Courtney Stroud, Lucas Dillon, Angel Porter, Bryce Shumway and Ryan Stroud; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Eddie (Audrey) Dillon; sister, Denise Chaffins of Hode;  sisters-in-law, Patricia (Bill) Chapman and Peggy (Paul) Hager; and brother-in-law, David Munce. Bobby also leaves behind a special nephew, Chad Dillon, a special friend and caretaker, Christi Chafins, and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024 at Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, with Sammy Ray Patrick officiating. Burial followed at the Chaffins-Harmon Cemetery in Hode. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
