Mingo man arrested for attempted murder

UPPER BIAS, W.Va. — One man is in jail for attempted murder and another is hospitalized after a stabbing in Mingo County.

West Virginia State Police said Aaron Mahon, 25, and Kenneth Ooten, 33, both of Delbarton, got into a fight early Tuesday morning in the community of Upper Bias near Delbarton.

Troopers said Mahon stabbed Ooten’s neck with a knife.

Ooten was taken by Healthnet helicopter to Cabell Huntington Hospital where he had emergency surgery.

At this time Mahon is charged with attempted murder. He is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden.

West Virginia State Troopers are continuing their investigation.
