Connie Sue Messer
1960—2024

Connie Sue Messer, 62, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away Saturday July 20, 2024, at Saint Mary’s Hospital.

She was a caretaker at West Virginia Choice and a Christian of Freewill Baptist Faith.

Connie was born Aug. 23, 1960, to the late John C Messer and Columbia Belle Evans.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cassie Janet Messer, and siblings, Clyde Messer, Richard Messer, Darrell Spaulding and Freida Chaffins.

Survivors include Connie’s son, Jimmy Lee Messer, of Huntington; her daughter Candice Shipley, of Huntington; grandkids Alyssa Messer, Logan Sisk and Azrielle Shipley; brothers, Billy H. Messer, of Columbus, Ohio, and Homer C. Messer of Louisa, Kentucky; sister, Anna Irene Stover of Galesburg, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Golden Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Ken Allen and Billy Bear Messer officiating. Burial will follow in the Messer Fields Cemetery in Stonecoal. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
