INEZ  — Lady Cardinals basketball player Maci Maynard has had an eventful summer thus far. The 6-foot-4 center has attended multiple camps and played with her AAU travel team when she has not been with the Martin County High School squad.

Maynard is a member of the Kentucky Premier EYBL 2028 team.

Her squad went 5-0 at the Battle in the Boro in tournament play.

She is currently playing at the largest girls basketball exposure event in the nation at the Run 4 Roses tournament in Louisville.

Maynard’s team won the silver bracket going 3-2. In the Roses Championship tournament, Premier is undefeated at 2-0.

Maynard has been invited to over 15 prestigious prospect camps this summer, including Cleveland State, Fort Wayne and Wisconsin.

The Lady Cards standout not only excels on the court but in the classroom as well. She carries a 4.0 GPA, which has opened up opportunities for her in the Ivy League.

The center has received invites to the best schools in the nation. Columbia University, Yale, and Howard have reached out to Maynard.

On Aug. 3 she will travel to Washington to attend the Howard University Camp.

This weekend she will attend the Chicago Nike Nationals in Chicago from the 18-22.

Maynard will continue with her packed itinerary when she is back in Louisville on Aug. 17 for a freshman showcase.

She is impressing college scouts with her size and ability to get up and down the court. Maynard has a thundering outlet pass after rebounds and the center has an uncanny ability to see the floor after receiving a pass on the block.

Maynard put up 204 points and brought down 304 rebounds for Martin County last season. She shot 70.8% from the free-throw line and led the Cards.
