Peggy Lee Marcum Moore
1942—2024
Peggy Lee Marcum Moore, 81, of Kermit, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Born Aug. 29, 1942 in Kermit, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Reva Jane Gillman Marcum.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ivory Uhl Moore, and her sister, Sandra Lynn Marcum.
Peggy was a retired art teacher, having taught at Kermit Pre-K-8. She was a member of the Kermit Town Council.
Peggy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kermit.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Eugene (Lisa) Moore of Manchester, Tennessee; grandchildren Ryan “Cody” (Amanda) Moore, Caitlin (Bryan) Slayden, Jesse (Jacob “J.D.”) Davis, Jacob Moore and fiance Whitney Baute; and great-grandson Ledger Slayden. She is also survived by her special nephews and nieces, John Sartin, Crystal (Wade) McSweeney, Bradley Marcum, Ashley, Courtney, Braxton, Reagan, Carlee, Levi, Robert and Emma, and a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Gillman Cemetery on Marrowbone, with Pastor Danny Meade officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service. If you wish to make a donation in Peggy’s Memory instead of sending flowers, the family requests that you send those to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Kermit Public Library.
