LOVELY — The Martin County Sheriff’s Office seized potted marijuana plants Friday afternoon at a residence in Lovely, authorities said.

Sheriff John Kirk and Chief Deputy Chris Kidd responded to a tip about marijuana plants growing in plain sight on North Wolf Creek Road. Upon arrival, they discovered several cannabis plants on the property.

“Walking up to the property we noticed several plants growing in pots,” Deputy Kidd said. “We found five plants total in the range of 5 feet to 6 feet tall.”

The officers confiscated the plants and issued the resident, Tony Muncy, a citation for cultivating marijuana.

Muncy is scheduled to answer the charge Aug. 6 in Martin District Court.
