INEZ — Baseball season ended for Martin County High School last month, but that did not stop two Cardinals from hitting the grind this summer. Aidan Mann and Damian Cheek recently attended the EXACT camp in Louisville.

The program hosts prospect camps that bring in high-potential athletes to play in front of college-level instructors. The camps include on-field workouts with college coaches, mental training on college readiness, and college networking.

Coaches from Centre College, Spalding, Transylvania, Wittenberg, Ohio Northern Universities, Tennessee at Martin, and University of Illinois Springfield were in attendance.

Cheek and Mann were both recently named to the Kentucky High School Sports Zone 15th Region Second-Team offense.

Mann, a junior, patrols the infield and takes the mound for the Cardinals. He threw 330 pitches for Martin County and struck out 26 batters in the 2024 season. He worked on fielding and batting at the event.

Cheek is the starting catcher for Martin County. He had a .385 batting average last season and led the team with 24 RBIs. The incoming senior worked on batting and catching during the camp.
