Luther Mcarther ‘Doug’ Branham
1943—2024

Luther Mcarther “Doug” Branham, 81, of Tomahawk, passed away June 16, 2024, at his residence.

Born March 18, 1943, in Lawrence County, he was the son of the late B. Martin and Mary M. Young Branham.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Delphimay Endicott, Lucille Endicott, Brookie Mullett, Daniel Branham, Owen Branham and Bessie Branham.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Dewight and Glenna Branham, Lisa and Luther Parsons, Michael Branham, Annie Diamond, Kathern Horn, and Beverly and Charles Alley; his children, Diana Snodgrass, Douglas Branham, Hazel Branham and Kathleen Branham, all of Amarillo, Texas; son-in-law George Sartin of Pikeville; and ex-wife Janet Sanders of Amarillo, Texas. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Cheyenne Branham, Sierra Branham, Jadda Branham, Austin Branham, Mason Branham, Breanna Branham, Preston Branham, Clayton Snodgrass and Lacy Snodgrass, and seven great-grandchildren.

Doug loved driving through Yellow Creek and remembering growing up as a kid at his homeplace. He enjoyed driving all the backroads.

Doug worked building coal silos and tipples all over Eastern Kentucky and West Virginia up until he was injured in the late 1980s.

He was a loving son and brother.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home in Inez. Burial will follow at the Branham Cemetery on Yellow Creek. Friends may visit beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
