Tennis ‘Bud’ Maynard Jr.
1956—2024

Tennis “Bud” Maynard Jr., 68, passed away June 5, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends at his residence.

Born March 13, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Tennis and Esther (Mullins) Maynard.

Tennis is survived by his wife, Karen (Jones) Maynard of Louisa; son, Tennis Colbie Maynard (Sydney) of Louisa; and sister, Patty Fields (Lowell). He was a Papaw to three grandchildren who were his life and kept him going: Sophia, Skyllar and Lucas. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Kim, who he thought of as a little sister; and his friend Marcus Wilson, who he always looked up to as a big brother. He leaves behind numerous family members, friends, cousins, nieces and nephews as well.

Tennis was of the Baptist faith, and loved the Lord. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. To know him was to love him. He was always willing to go out of his way to help someone in need. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home in Inez. Tennis was laid to rest at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Louisa. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
