Local veterans groups award scholarships to 10 high school seniors

The Veterans Coalition for Quality Health Care and DAV Chapter 18 of Auxier awarded scholarships to 10 high school seniors across Floyd, Johnson and Martin counties.

Five students received scholarships of $500 each. The recipients include Ashdon Kerr from Martin County High School, Brett Gipson from Paintsville High School, Alex Hinkle from Betsy Layne High School, Constance Martin from Johnson Central High School and Timothy C. Robinson from Prestonsburg High School.

Additionally, five students from Floyd Central High School were each awarded $100 scholarships. These students are Audrey R. Bays, Laci O’Quinn, Riley Jo Compton, Taylor Ison and Keon Reeves.
