WARFIELD — Martin County Middle School announced May 16 that Tiffany Bowen will take the helm as the head coach of the cheerleading team this upcoming year.
Bowen is a 2001 graduate of Sheldon Clark High School where she was a varsity cheerleader for four years.
She received the Universal Cheerleaders Association All-Star award after obtaining 10 years of cheer experience.
Bowen also competed for many years as a competitive power tumbler.
“I want to work with and build a team that our school is proud of. It’s important to prepare our cheerleaders for future cheer opportunities as they move on to the high school and collegiate levels,” Bowen said.
She has been active in extracurriculars within the county.
Recently Bowen coached the K-2 Eden Elementary Cheer squad. She sponsored Eden Elementary’s Beta Program, served as a Parent Site Base member as vice chair for nine years, and volunteered in the community whenever possible.
Bowen looks forward to laying the groundwork.
“My hopes are to use my experience to build a team on a foundation of skill while having lots of fun,” remarked Bowen. “I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I am excited to get started.”
