Misty Dawn Waller Fleming

Misty Dawn Waller Fleming
1977—2024

Beloved sister, mother and daughter, Misty Dawn Waller, 47, of Wichita Falls, Texas, formerly of Kermit, West Virginia, passed from this world Friday, May 10, 2024.

Born Jan. 27, 1977, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of Shirley Marcum Waller and the late James Rufus “Bucky” Waller.

Misty was raised in Kermit on Marrowbone Creek. She was the oldest of five children and the only girl. She was a mother hen to her younger brothers, and they often took offense to her mothering nature. She was tough but had to be with four younger brothers and kept them on their toes.

Misty was a homemaker. She married Harold Eugene Fleming and lost him to cancer in 2021. Following his death, she moved to Texas to be closer to her mother, brothers and son.

In addition to her husband and father, Misty is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Autumn Brooke.

Survivors include her mother Shirley; companion Jason Herd; son Cameron Waller of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter Jeannah Fleming of Inez, Kentucky; brothers James Shawn (Ashley) Waller of Kermit, West Virginia, Jeremiah Waller, Dustin (Misty) Waller and Shane (Rocio) Waller, all of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister-in-law Tammy Waller of Wichita Falls, Texas; nieces Kyla Waller of Huntington, West Virginia, and Alex Coleman of Louisa, Kentucky; nephews Andrew Baisden, Evan Waller and Chase Waller, all of Wichita Falls, Texas, Brody Waller and Jordan Waller of Lenore, West Virginia, and Ethan Coleman of Louisa, Kentucky. She loved her nieces and nephews and loved to spoil them, affectionately calling all of them “Sissy’s baby.”

Misty was fiercely independent, stubborn and as wild as the hills that raised her. She lived her life on her own terms and refused to allow her illness to define her or confine her up until the day she entered the Hospice of Wichita Falls inpatient center. On that day, she said she was tired of fighting. Misty made her peace with the Lord and said there was no life without God in it. She was content to know she would have eternal life in heaven with her beloved Papaw.

Graveside services were conducted Friday, May 17, 2024, on Newsome Ridge. The family would like to thank everyone who donated to help get Misty home for burial and Mullins Family Funeral Home for their assistance in honoring Misty. Donations can continue to be made to Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, in Misty’s name.
