INEZ — Kentucky Christian University is gaining another top-tier talent from Martin County this upcoming season. Dray Duff signed with the Knights on May 6 at the high school auditorium in front of his friends and family.

Duff is the son of David and Kim Duff. He has been a standout athlete for Martin County athletics, averaging over eight points and four rebounds per game.

The scrappy guard tied for second place in the state of Kentucky in assists in a single game. Duff dished out 20 dimes in his junior season against East Ridge in the 15th Region All “A” Classic.

“I’ve been playing basketball since I could walk,” Duff said. “The group I’ve been able to play with, to share the memories I have with them, is awesome.”

A favorite memory of his is getting to play at Rupp Arena after winning the 15th Region championship.

Duff won three district championships, two 15th Region championships, an All “A” championship, and two 15th Region runner-up titles.

“I wanted to stay with my teammate Brayden McKenzie,” he said. Duff’s fellow guard will be heading to Grayson, Kentucky, with him.

“The coaching staff has been great to us.”

The Cardinal great had his senior season end abruptly when he went down with a knee injury.

Overcoming adversity has built Duff into a different breed on and off the court. He looks forward to bouncing back and finishing what he started.
