INEZ — Joy Pack, of Butler, Ohio, formerly of Tomahawk, Kentucky, is the winner of the annual Mountain Citizen Mother’s Day Giveaway Basket and Flowers.
The 80-year-old Joy is the mother of one son, Tim, also of Ohio. She was thrilled to be the winner.
“I can’t believe I won,” she said after the drawing Tuesday to determine the winner. “I feel so humbled.”
She laughed, “This is the best gift I’ve never had to buy.”
Pack and her husband, Willie Pack, have been married for 65 years. They used to run around Inez and Tomahawk in their younger days before moving to Ohio many years ago.
“My maiden name is Setser, so I know a lot of them and the Delongs too,” she said of her former stomping grounds.
Joy’s winnings include fresh-cut flowers and a Candleberry candle from Blooms on Main, assorted items from Blue Light Bargains, a $50 gift card from Madison Blue Boutique, a $25 certificate from Cloud 9 Café, Plunder earrings and a 40-ounce tumbler from Paula’s Hair Images, two movie passes from Movies on Main, a $20 gift certificate from Dairy Drive-In, assorted sweets from Sugar Momma’s Sweet Shop, a $50 grocery card from Warfield IGA, a beautiful towel, makeup and Lululemon bag from Main Emporium, and a $40 gift card from Masterpiece Kitchen & Cafe.
Pack’s sister-in-law, Ella “Junie” Hall, accepted the basket on her behalf.
