LOVELY — A local man is in jail on felony charges after being accused of assaulting his ex-wife and holding her captive inside a residence.
Trevor Jude, 27, of Lovely, was taken into custody around 6 p.m. Thursday at a residence on KY-292 after the alleged victim reported the incident at the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
During an interview with Chief Deputy Chris Kidd, the woman recounted that Jude had forced her onto the bed, restrained her and prevented her from leaving. She stated that Jude threatened, “If you try to leave, I will beat the [expletive] out of you.”
When she managed to break free and attempted to gather her two children to leave, Jude allegedly grabbed a knife in front of the children, threatening to slit his wrist.
The woman succeeded in exiting the home, but when she tried to flee the scene, Jude cut and flattened her car tire.
According to the police report, Deputy Kidd located Jude a short time later.
Jude admitted to flattening the tire and having an “altercation” with his ex-wife, the deputy said.
Charges against Jude include first-degree unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a minor, assault (domestic violence), and criminal mischief.
He remained behind bars Tuesday at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
