INEZ — Martin County Clerk Susie Skyles is encouraging students to participate in the Secretary of State’s “I Voted” sticker contest. She wants to display copies of entries from Martin County students in her office.

The contest, announced by Secretary of State Michael Adams, is open to Kentucky students K-12.

Poll workers will hand out the winning sticker design to voters in participating counties during the 2024 general election.

Skyles hopes a lot of Martin County students will participate.

“We would love to display any and all submissions in my office,” she said. “How great it would be for one of our kids to win and have their design on the  “I Voted” stickers that we use on Election Day.”

To enter the contest, students need to email their best design to sos.secretary@ky.gov by May 17 at 5 p.m. Entries must be original work and include the words “I Voted.” Please include the student’s name, school, address and phone number in the submission. Also type “I Voted Sticker Contest” in the email subject line. Please upload the design in JPEG or PNG format.

The Secretary of State’s Office will choose the finalists to go on a ballot for voting during the 2024 Kentucky State Fair. The top vote-getter’s design will be printed on this year’s “I Voted” stickers.

Martin County students can forward a copy of their design to Skyles at karen.skyles@ky.gov or drop it off in person to have it displayed in the clerk’s office in Inez.
