Martin County High School teacher receives Pathfinder Award

INEZ — Martin County High School math teacher Taylor Slone is this year’s recipient of the Big Sandy Community & Technical College’s Pathfinder Award. BSCTC Provost, Dr. Denise King, Academic Advisor/Student Services and Recruiter Melinda Lynch, and Pathfinder visited Martin County High School to present the award April 9.

The Pathfinder Award acknowledges exceptional high school staff members who actively promote and motivate students to enroll in any KCTCS institution.

BSCTC said in a press release that Slone earned the award due to her dedicated support for student achievement both inside and outside the classroom.

“Her unwavering commitment to teaching serves as an inspiration to her students and community,” the release said.
