MADISON, W.Va. — The Scott Skyhawks soared past the Tug Valley Panthers 10-1 on the diamond in baseball action Saturday in Boone County.
Conner Lackey, Zack Hall, Elijah Fluty and Chandler Copley each had hits for TVHS. Lackey’s base knock was double.
Scott jumped out to a quick lead on a double by Luke Knight, then singles by Kedron Elkins, Austin Light and Hayden Johnson.
Leading 4-0 after the first inning, Scott added two more runs in the second and three more in the fourth. The Skyhawks tacked on an insurance in the bottom of the sixth frame.
Tug Valley scored its lone run in the third as Lackey made it across home plate.
Hall took the loss on the mound for Coach Chad Hall’s squad.
Hunter Woodrum earned the win on the hill for the Skyhawks.
Scott had 10 hits in the game and stole eight bases. Elkins and Light led the way with two hits apiece.
Tug Valley was scheduled to host Class AAA Logan on Tuesday at Don Spence Field.
