Martin County Arrest Report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Kelly Carter Jude, 46, of Inez, was arrested Monday in the courthouse parking lot in Inez for operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license. Sheriff Kirk said Jude left the courtroom, where Judge John Chafin told her not to drive, got into her vehicle and started backing out of the parking lot.

Kayla Dawn Jude

Julie Ann Jude, 48, and Kayla Dawn Jude, 32, of Warfield, were arrested April 3 at Riverside Housing in Warfield for assault, fourth degree (domestic violence), minor injury. Sheriff Kirk responded to a call about a mother and daughter fighting at Riverside Housing. The sheriff noted both women had visible injuries: K. Jude had bruises on her leg, while J. Jude had a knot on her left eye. K. Jude reportedly advised her mother had hit her and that she hit her mother back. J. Jude stated her daughter assaulted her.

Paul Brewer

Paul Brewer, 40, of Kermit, was arrested April 1 on Riverfront Road in Lovely for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia-buy/possession and two warrants for court. Sheriff Kirkacted on a tip that meth was being sold at a residence on Riverfront Road. After he received permission to search, officers found a backpack with a small black pouch containing a gram of crystal substance, which Brewer identified as methamphetamine. Officers also found scales used to weigh dope and two glass pipes.

Lacy Scott

Lacy Scott, 57, of Lovely, was arrested April 1 on Riverfront Road in Lovely for possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia-buy/possession. Sheriff Kirk acted on a tip that Scott was selling meth at his residence on Riverfront Road. Scott consented to a search of the residence, where officers found a baggie in plain view that contained 3 grams of crystal substance. They also found three glass pipes in Scott’s bedroom.

James McCoy

James McCoy, 53, of Pilgrim, was arrested April 1 on Meathouse Road in Pilgrim on a bench warrant for court. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest.

Stephanie A. Sweeney

Stephanie A. Sweeney, 45, of Pilgrim, was arrested April 1 in Pilgrim for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Constable Bradford Preece responded to calls about a vehicle in the ditch on South Wolf Creek Road. He found Sweeney standing across the road from the vehicle. Sweeney reportedly stated she fell asleep and ran into the ditch. According to Preece, Sweeney had an odor of alcohol on her person and admitted to drinking “several shots.” The police report states Sweeney failed a field sobriety test.

Jimmy Maynard

Jimmy Maynard, 44, of Lovely, was arrested March 28 in Lovely for fourth-degree assault. Kidd was called to a residence on Riverfront Road in Lovely for a verbal altercation. When the officer arrived, a female stated Maynard was arguing with her and had assaulted her by holding her arms and neck and squeezing her face.

Elizabeth Horn

Elizabeth Horn, 34, of Pilgrim, was arrested March 26 in Pilgrim for receiving stolen property $1,000-$10,000 and possession of controlled substance. While Chief Deputy Chris Kidd was serving a warrant on Horn, she stated she had fentanyl on her and produced a blue bag from her front pocket.

Garland Mills

Garland Mills, 49, of Pilgrim, was arrested March 26 in Pilgrim for burglary and criminal mischief. Kidd made the arrest.
