NAUGATUCK, W.Va. — The Lady Panthers softball team continues to pick up wins. They are now ranked No. 5 in Class A in the Mountain State.
They recently defeated a good Poca Dots team 7-2 in a game played at Chapmanville.
Bailee Hall was once again the winning pitcher and she helped her own cause with four hits, including a double and triple. The leadoff hitter also scored three runs.
Tailyn Russell, Hailey Newsome and Jessica Spaulding all had two hits for Tug Valley. Megan Griffey and Haleigh Muncy both smacked a double.
Tug Valley beat Cross Lanes Christian 12-3 in their next game.
Hall was the winning hurler. Russell led the hit parade with three hits for TVHS and she scored a pair of runs.
Haleigh Muncy smacked two hits and scored three runs. Griffey had another double in this game.
Tug Valley rapped out 11 hits as a team in the victory. Others with hits were Hall, Wellman, Newsome and Spaulding. Hall and Wellman each scored a couple of runs.
The rainy and cooler weather caused several games to be postponed. Coach Rocky Hall and his staff hope to get more games in as drier weather is forecast in the coming days.
