As the softball season begins, the Martin County Lady Cardinals introduce their senior players, offering the community a glimpse into the lives, accomplishments and dreams of these skilled athletes. Two seniors, Addison Duncan and Brooklyn McKenzie, will be leading the team on the field this season.
Addison Duncan #7 – First Base
Duncan has played softball for 10 years and takes on the first base position for the Martin County Lady Cardinals.
She recalls a unique favorite softball memory of putting the tarp on the field in the dark.
Duncan’s favorite walk-up song is “All of the Lights” by Kanye West.
She enjoys dining at Texas Roadhouse.
Her favorite athlete is Elly DeLa Cruz.
Duncan’s chosen superhero alter ego would be The Flash.
Among her school classes, she favors Yearbook. Her favorite movie is “Iron Claw” and her favorite TV show is “Young Sheldon.”

Not widely known, she has a passion for quilting and has crafted numerous quilts.
Brooklyn McKenzie #50 – Outfield
McKenzie plays the outfielder position for the Martin County Lady Cardinals.
She draws inspiration from her favorite athlete, Jeff Sheppard.
If McKenzie could pick one superhero to be for a day, it would be Batman.
Her walk-up song for softball is “Amili” by Lil Wayne.
McKenzie’s favorite class in school is Yearbook.
You might find Brooklyn hanging out at her favorite restaurant, Wendy’s.
Her go-to movie is “The Minions,” and she finds comfort in the TV show “Everybody Loves Raymond.”
McKenzie looks up to her mom the most.
