WARFIELD — In an act of remarkable generosity and community spirit, Rusty Justice, co-owner of Jigsaw Mining, has extended a helping hand to the Beta Club of Martin County Middle School, sponsoring an educational journey to the Challenger Learning Center of Kentucky in Hazard.
Justice, accompanied by Tom Cravens, director of CLC of Kentucky, visited the school to present a generous donation of $3,500, ensuring the students’ participation in this enriching two-day event.
During the assembly, Justice shared insights into his upbringing in Pikeville, where he continues to reside. He emphasized the importance of giving back to Eastern Kentucky, a region close to his heart, and recounted his own experiences of being in the students’ shoes.
Justice’s talk was not just a walk down memory lane but a powerful message to the students about setting ambitious goals and the value of hard work in achieving them.
This significant contribution from Justice covers the cost of transportation, meals and participation in various space challenges at the center, providing an unparalleled opportunity for young minds to explore and learn.
The Beta Club members, under the guidance of their mentors, are set to embark on an adventure that promises to ignite their imaginations and inspire their academic pursuits.
Justice’s commitment to the youth of Eastern Kentucky and his investment in their future highlights the impact that individual acts of kindness and support can have on the community. His actions serve as a reminder that with determination and support, every young individual has the potential to achieve greatness.
The school community and the Beta Club members extend their heartfelt gratitude to Justice and Cravens for their support and for making this educational adventure possible.
