State police seize kilogram of methamphetamine in routine traffic stop

PAINTSVILLE — Kentucky State Police seized approximately 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of methamphetamine during a routine traffic stop March 12 in Paintsville.

Post 9’s Drug Interdiction Unit arrested two individuals from Akron, Ohio, after locating the substance inside the vehicle.

Makayla Garner, 20, and Antwan Freeman, 22, both face a charge of trafficking controlled substance (methamphetamine). Garner was also cited for a speeding violation.

The two are in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
