PRESTONSBURG — Big Sandy Community and Technical College has been approved to offer a paramedic training program beginning in August. Building upon its existing emergency medical services curriculum, BSCTC will provide hybrid paramedic classes with sessions conducted one day a week.
Chris Gilley, BSCTC EMS program coordinator/instructor, expressed his excitement about the addition of the paramedic training program.
“We are thrilled to expand our offerings to include paramedic training, further strengthening the vital services we provide to our community,” said Gilley.
Dr. Denise King, chief academic officer and provost of BSCTC, shared her enthusiasm for the program’s approval, stating, “This has been a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to offer affordable and relevant training programs that meet the needs of our communities.”
BSCTC will announce mandatory information sessions for admission to the program soon and encourages interested individuals to stay tuned.
