Luke Hale (#2) of the Martin County High School Cardinals is the Auto Brokers-Mountain Citizen Player of the Week.

Hale gave a standout performance to lead the Cardinals past Pikeville 65-57 in the semifinals of the 15th ‘Super Region’ tournament Friday night. The senior scored 29 points in the effort.

As guard/forward, Hale helped lead Martin County to a third 57th District championship in a row. He dropped 43 points in the opening game of the district tournament against Paintsville and scored 20 in the championship game against Magoffin County.

Hale has led the Cardinals throughout the 2023-2024 campaign, amassing over 722 points and averaging 23.3 points per game. He is shooting 47.1% from the field, 41.7% from behind the 3-point line, and 81.7% from the free-throw line.

Hale is the son of Shawn Hale and Cara Goble Hale.
