Eugene Maynard
1946—2024

Eugene Maynard, 77, of Inez, passed away Feb. 26, 2024, at his residence.

Born March 4, 1946, in Beauty, he was the son of the late Charlie and Anna Mary McCoy Maynard.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Pearl Maynard and Elbert Spaulding Jr., eight sisters, Inice Moore, Betty McCoy, Pauline May, Grace Slone, Nellie Spaulding, Lizzie Slone, Juanita Shipe and Patty F. Cassady.

He is survived by sons Eugene (Rhonda) Maynard Jr. of Lenore, West Virginia, and Charles Raymond “Chuck” (Alicia Singleton) Maynard of Burgin and daughter Lisa (Virgil) Marcum of Beauty. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Morgan (Dave) Evans, Devin Maynard, Brian Marcum, Rihanna Marcum, Chasity (Ricky) Harless, Ethan Maynard and Mason Singleton, and five great-grandchildren, Ella Evans, Eli Evans, Jaylyn Harless, Ricky Harless and Kyler Harless.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at noon in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Joe Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at the Charlie Maynard Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
