INEZ — Prohibition ends Wednesday in Inez. The City issued its first-ever packaged beer license to Zip Zone Express, and the beer truck is set to deliver to the convenience store around 7 a.m.
Inez had remained dry since Prohibition—a ban on the sale and import of alcoholic beverages that lasted from 1920 to 1933 in the United States.
Inez residents voted for alcoholic beverage sales in November 2023 after resident Jennifer Wells circulated a petition last year to get the question added to the ballot.
Head to Zip Zone Express and pop a top to this historic occasion, providing tax dollars and making Inez competitive with other boarding communities.
