Brenda Joyce Glanden Salmons
1950—2024

Brenda Joyce Glanden Salmons, 73, of Kermit, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 31, 2024, at her home.

Born April 9, 1950, in Mingo County, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Corrina Glanden.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Flem Salmons; son, Johnny (Christi) Salmons; son-in-law, Harrison Butcher; grandchild, Jeremiah Butcher; and several sisters and one brother.

Survivors include Brenda’s children, Brenda Mae Butcher, Donald (Michelle) Salmons and Rhoda Salmons, all of Kermit, and seven grandchildren, Donald Salmons Jr., Johnathon Salmons, Cameron Salmons, Marcus (Elizabeth) Butcher, Sara Salmons, Charity (Anthony) Riggs, Corrina Newsome; great-grandson, Luke Brumfield; two great-granddaughters, Alaia and Abigail Butcher; and one great grandbaby on the way. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Brenda was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Huntington for their care.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, at Lighthouse Community Church, Kermit, with Pastor Keith Brumfield and others officiating. Burial was at the Perry Point Cemetery on Jennies Creek. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday at the church. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
