MOUNTAIN CITIZEN
MARTIN COUNTY — In an urgent announcement at 7:27 p.m. the Martin County Water District informed residents of an imminent water shut-off across the entire county starting from 11 p.m. Saturday.
The measure comes as a response to critically low water levels in the clearwell tanks at the water treatment facility.
MCWD officials projected the shut-off to last between 8 and 10 hours before the district begins restoring water.
Officials stated that many zones would begin seeing a loss of pressure before 11 p.m. when the district valves will be turned off.
The water district extended apologies: “We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing our customers and appreciate your continued patience as we correct the issues in the system.”
Following the reactivation of the water system, MCWD will issue a countywide boil water advisory.
