Louis Mills
1927—2024
Louis Mills, 96, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024.
He was born March 3, 1927, in Martin County to the late Bascom Mills and Maudie Sammons Mills.
He gave his life to the Lord over 70 years ago and was a current member of the Favored United Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Vivian Mills, two brothers and four sisters.
Louis is survived by his wife of 27 years, Betty Mills; three children, Lola Carol Thomas of Frenchburg, Ron (Carolyn) Mills and Hobert Ray (Janet) Mills, both of Tomahawk; six grandchildren, Michelle Thomas, Eric Mills, Gregg Thomas, David Mills, Derrick Mills and Tracy Bower; and nine great-grandchildren; two step-children, Doug (Brenda) Damron and Carolyn Ellis, four step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Nelcie Combs of Mansfield, Ohio, and Flo Ann Wilson of Clarksville, Tennesse.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, with Jerry Colvin officiating. Burial will follow at the Mills Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Saturday after 6 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
